 Best indoor ball for the competitive player October 23, 2004

I was introduced to the TF-1000 when my daughter first began playing for a competitive AAU team. I have found it not only to be a step above the rest, but the best indoor ball period.
It has an excellent feel and touch for shooting, passing, and dribbling. It retains air and holds its shape very well. And after more than two years of use it still seems new -- plenty of life remaining.
All balls are different, but because this one is often used as a competitive game ball at tournaments, it's important for a player to practice with the same equipment with which they will be competing. As the saying goes, "Practice how you play because you play like you practice."
Finally, if this ball is ever lost it will be easy to replace for the simple reason that it is such a standard in the women's game today. Please be aware that this is an indoor ball for use in gyms, not outdoors on asphalt or concrete.
The TF-1000 is an NFHS approved basketball for high schools and often used as a game ball. As such it may be considered a must-have piece of equipment for the competitive player.

reasons i know this ball is good:
1) my ball always gets picked as the game ball
2) people always ask whose ball it is.
3) on at least 5 separate occasions people have remarked that this is "the best ball they've ever played with"
4) twice, i've caught people trying to take it home with them "by mistake"
things i'm scared to do:
1) use it outdoors (but i haven't tried it because i love it so much)

I have three adult sons who all play basketball. I have purchased numerous basketballs in my life. The Spalding TF-1000 is the BEST basketball there is. All three of my sons ask for it specifically. They tell me that when they play with their friends, the group always want to use this ball in the game. They say it has the perfect feel to it. Also, Amazon has the best price on this ball in my comparisons.

It's pretty simple. You play ball and you want a rock that feels good as a shooter, passer and when you put it on the floor. I really can't recommend this ball enough and at [...], you should really buy two, or three, or a whole bag full. I had a TF-1000 about 5 years ago and decided, after some light-fingered individual pilfered it at the local gym, that I'd try a new brand of ball. So, I went looking for more exotic options (such as the Wilson and the Molten). Problem is these other balls, while nice, just don't have the same nice feel as a TF, at according to my tactile perception. While the Wilson in particular had a nice,"grippier" outer, there's just not the polished feel of the TF there, especially when you're curling off a screen and need to catch and shoot cleanly and quickly.
It comes out of the box ready to go, requires no break in and is durable for a long time. I like the ZK TF even so slightly more than the plain TF-1000. Aside from the top of the line Molten FIBA ball and the NBA official game ball once broken in, there's no better option that I've used and for this price, it's the best value around.
