Product Description 43 inch dual canopy windproof umbrella
Amazon.com Product Description The ideal choice for people on the go, the GustBuster Metro umbrella keeps you dry wherever you roam. The Metro is distinguished by its carrying sheath, which doubles as a backpack or shoulder sling. As a result, you can easily carry this umbrella when it's dry out while also holding a briefcase and cup of coffee. The Metro measures 22 inches long when open and 16 inches folded, with an award-winning 43-inch double-canopy design that's large enough to accommodate two people. The patented temper-hardened steel joint connectors, hexagonal hardened-steel ribs, and reinforced shaft, meanwhile, hold up to heavy use and are built to resist crimping and snapping. And should you not want to carry the Metro via the sheath, it fits easily in a purse or briefcase. Other details include a sure-grip comfort handle, a pinchless open and close release system, and a sleek design. Wind-tested by the College of Aeronautics to 55 miles per hour, the Metro carries a lifetime warranty.

Strongly built! September 5, 2006 Basil J. Whiting (Brooklyn, New York United States) 113 out of 117 found this review helpful
It's a bit early for a full review since I've had the umbrella only a month and haven't used it in "gusts" yet. But, it is handsome, clearly well designed with the flutes to dissipate gusts, very strongly built, and opens crisply. My only disappointment is that it is smaller than I'd expected and need (I am 6'6" and need a larger umbrella to keep my feel/legs from getting too wet). The dimension quoted in the ads is not the diameter across the opened canopy (which would have sufficed), but the distance from rim-to-rim with the tape laid on the canopy, meaning the actual diameter is smaller.
commuter's dream October 8, 2005 Chris N. Sciamanna 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
it's nice and light and really does hold up well in the wind. i take the train, so i end up walking around the city quite a bit and have been very impressed with this umbrella. i'm thinking about buying more for gifts for others at work. it's the only umbrella you'll need. my only complaint is that a few of the wires inside have sharp edges that are not perfectly protected. don't put your hand in there and you'll be fine. it opens automatically and protects you very well. it's also compact, so it fits nicely in my backpack.
Ultimate Umbrella February 20, 2006 C. Barrett (Bremerton WA) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
Here in the Pacific Northwest it's pretty common to see beat-up umbrellas that are hanging on by a thread. Not the Gustbuster! This thing stands up to that "sideways rain" that we so often get. I walk to and from work, at one point crossing a bridge over open water and believe me when I say that the wind nearly stops me in my tracks some days. I LOVE my GustBuster Metro which fits in my backpack when not in use and never turns inside out when it is in use. Always there for me when I need it, just like a good friend.
It holds up! July 13, 2006 Thomas C. Campbell (San Francisco, CA United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I got this umbrella so that I could have a small umbrella to carry about for the spotty rain we have (here in S.F.) during our rainy season. The biggest concern I had was the gusty wind that accompanies our rain and whether or not my umbrella would be able to stand it (here most everyone carries around some sort of coverage and most can't stand up to our wind). This umbrella did, it never came close to turning inside out and it never failed to open or otherwise perform. I recommend it highly.
Flawless in the Windy City! August 30, 2006 Meagen 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought this umbrella hoping to finally own one that won't turn inside out in windy weather. If you have ever visited Chicago, you will know that the city lives up to it's nickname.
My sister walks a few blocks to work every day, and when it rains, she begs me to let her use my umbrella. This thing seems to be made of steel as it has yet to turn inside out. In strong winds that nearly knock a 140lb person off her feet, not to mention rip the umbrella out of her hands, the Gust Buster hasn't even shown any signs that it might possibly bend.
Not to mention, the umbrella comes in a sleeve that has a shoulder strap for easy carrying. I love it!
